We bought and set up our holiday cottage Sept 19 on Anglesey but it has not yet reached Wales criteria for business rates and all support we have found are connected to business rates - with our planned bookings we would have reached by 9th May but due to COVID 19 now will not . Please advise on anything we can do / claim / who to approach in relation to this - I contacted business rates department and they said my MP but wondered if anyone knew anything else or is experiencing similar as - still paying all expenses and holiday let is closed due to Lock down / travel restrictions
thanks in advance

What do you mean by the phrase "has not yet reached Wales criteria for business rates"?0

Essentially you have a second home that is not let to anyone so naturally, as the owner you are liable for all expenses.0

Some councils are looking for short-term rentals for key workers and others. You might want to see if they need accomodation to rent. Rates are not that generous but it will defray some costs.
- All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's
- When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
- "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere
- All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's and their rules apply.
