My partner asked to be furloughed after being made redundant on the 28th March, and this was the company response, any advice ?
” I have looked in to your request, however I am sorry we can not accommodate you. We can not add any headcount to the business at the moment and your old role as you know is redundant and no longer exists within the business.“

Were they made redundant due to covid or was it some other reason like a restructure? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1

Unfortunately, it's the employers decision and there's nothing he can do. Look at claiming Universal Credit, providing your savings/capital isn't more than £16,000.If you claim tax credits this will end if you claim UC.1

They were made redundant as the role no longer exists.0

Which means you won't be furloughed. Try a benefits calculator to see what you maybe entitled to. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/
