Furlough

Hi
I was sent home from work on the 25th of March until further notice.
I have been told by my manager that I will be getting a phone call from my head office in the next day or two to redeploy me to another job/site within the company or they will furlough me (which I'd rather be furloughed) I've been told that I have to have a good enough reason for not taking redeployment, surely my safety and health is my main concern.

It might be your concern but that does not mean it is your companies. Do you mean that you should be shielding or just concerned that may get the virus?0

Both I suppose, but if I've been sent home from where I work why would you send me else where as I could just be doing what I was in my job anyway. What I want to know is do I have to by law take the redeployment. Thanks0 -
Not unless it is unreasonable communite. Why are they redoplying you if you can do your job where you are ? have they said0

No, you don't have to, you could take unpaid leave. If work is available then you won't be furloughed.

I work on a desk in a shopping centre, the desk is closed but I can work upstairs doing other things. There is always something to do.. The company said if we have a good enough reason not to redeploy then they would furlough us. There are 4 of us altogether. I think I'll wait and see what they say when they call. Thank you all
