Money transferred to my old account which is part of an iva.

My friend accidentally transferred money to my old bank account which is part of an IVA. It is showing it has left his account, will it be automatically returned to him.

Depends, what have the bank done with your old account ?

Has it been closed/frozen, or is it still live ?

If its one of the former, the money should be returned, if the latter, then it won`t, you will have  to ask them for it.

You might find it better to ask via your IVA firm, as they will have contacts in the correct department, the frontline staff on the banks phone banking may not have required access or training to handle the situation
