New Car on Order delayed due to Covid-19 - I want to cancel what are my options?

I think in the circumstance I'd be a little cautious about chasing the last penny.
Unless the sale contract you have is bulletproof that you can cancel if the supply date isn't met without charge (unless you drafted the contract and stated time of the essence on it, a dealer contract would like have all kinds of wriggle room there) you might find yourself in a situation where pushed they work out how to prioritise delivery of your vehicle and it arrives on your doorstep...!
Was your friends legal opinion on the basis of them reading all the documents you have and casting their learned opinion, or on the basis of them discussing your paraphrased version of your agreements? If the latter I'd think very carefully about how much stock I put in it for the sake of £150. The longer a line isn't drawn under this the more chance you have of having a shiny new motor on your driveway.
