Buying furniture during lockdown. Will the price of all goods rise following the pandemic?

I am currently decorating my home and have been looking into buying a new sofa and other pieces of furniture. Is it wise to buy at this time, does anyone have any idea if furniture prices will go up with inflation? Or will furniture prices come down in price following the pandemic? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks

May go up, may go down, may stay at current level. Nobody can say with any degree of certainty.

I have recently moved house and I am itching to get a few bits of furniture but I’m holding off currently. My first bit of advice, order on your credit card! I ordered a mattress on March 13th to be delivered on March 31st, it never came as they stop delivery and didn’t let me know! They could not give me any idea when it would come as the Uk factory has closed for the time being. In the end It took my days to get a refund, many emails and calls, I couldn’t wait as I was sleeping on the floor. Also if they had gone bust I would have had a really hard time getting my money back. I had stupidly paid on my debit card too 🤦♀️With things they way they are I will only order if I am sure the item will come quickly ( the longer it takes the more chance it won’t come)..
I have my eye on an Ikea sofa but I’m waiting for them to open again and keeping the money aside, which is frustrating but I really want this actual sofa and anything will cost me more and right now, I won’t be able to test out.I guess at least it’s something to look forward to, one things are up and running again.0 -

With many people's credit maxed-out by the end of this, you expect inflation?
