Ppi company

I claimed my ppi back from most companies but here was one I knew I had it with that I’d tried to get it back but got nowhere. I signed up to one of those companies online. I didn’t continue or return their paperwork. I then carried on seeking it myself. I got a small amount back. The ppi company are now asking for payment. Where do I stand? I didn’t get ppi back but overpayed interest so this is what the payment is for. 400 and they want 100. It’s long gone and I’m broke. They’re saying I signed up online so I entered an agreement and have to pay. They’re also saying as I didn’t cancel them I still owe it. I never responded to any of their communication or retuned signed paperwork. They’re saying I signed up online so this is the agreement. Is there anything I can do?

Not if it mentioned that signing up online agreed to the terms and conditionsEx forum ambassador

I honestly don’t recall that but they’ve sent me a form with a signature, not my signature.0

Is it one where you’ve signed it on a phone/tablet with your finger? It might look a bit funny but should still resemble your signature. If it’s absolutely nothing like it, complain to the FCA.Incidentally, what’s the name of the crowd you signed up for?helpful tips

If you believe that the claims company has done something wrong then the good news is that as of April 2019, claims companies became regulated by the FCA. That means they are subject to the regulated complaints process and you get access to the ombudsman. So, if you think that they are wrong, make a formal complaint to them telling them that you never entered into a contract with them and that you will refer the complaint to the ombudsman if they reject your complaint. If they still refuse, then you refer it to the FOS.
The company you mention comes up a lot on this site from posters saying much the same as you. So, you appear not to be alone.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Allay are one of the ones that state they require a signature for checks. They posted on social media as Angie’s Advice and Sarah’s money tips and we’re unfairly advertising ‘free PPI checks’ without disclosing the fact they were Infact a CMC (well, they did, on around page 68 of the small print)
