    I`ll pass on the great although not good information .

    So the NI credits awarded during them claiming carers allowance count towards nothing apart from their state pension eligibility?
    You can get Carer's credit  worth having a look at  I did not know about it it helps you get your NI credits.

    They would count towards new style ESA if that was applicable and Maternity Allowance.
    Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

    These are for if someone is caring for someone between 20-35 hours per week, not enough to receive Carers Allowance. The NI credits are the same as those awarded for actually receiving CA, so still would not entitle someone to new-style JSA.
