Received P45 but want to cancel Jobseekers Allowance claim

Basically, my hubby to be was laid off on 23rd March temporarily due to the car manufacturer factory closing completely. He was placed there by an agency and has been working there since summer 2019 and will return there as on a 'retainer', when its back open.
Believeing the 80% government salary scheme wouldn't apply to agency workers, he made a claim for JSA (conts based/new style) more than 3 weeks ago. Has not heard a thing from DWP but today received different P45's through the post. One with the 'leaving date' on, one for JSA and one for giving to a new employer. He now wishes to cancel the JSA seekers application totally because the 80% is applicable to him, was waiting for DWP to contact him (as this what email they sent said would happen). He was phoned his agency today and they have not organised the sending of the P45 at all.
Any advice please. I dare say that DWP will be almost impossible to ring and speak to anyone.
Thanks x

Have you checked who issued the P45?
Another poster received one from DWP and it clearly states on it somewhere it was issued by DWP (due to their Jobseeker's Allowance claim ending).
And it is likely to be different parts of one P45, not different P45's1 -
The envelope it came in said from HMRC or DWP, typical brown envelopeHaving read it thoroughly, it does give 23rd March 2020 as date that benefit ended. Which is the same date that laid off work began. He will ring them tomorrow. If hes not able to claim new style JSA for some reason, perhaps that's best as it won't cause a problem with being furloughed. Fingers crossedCheers x0

More letters arrived today saying not enough NI conts paid in qualifying years. The government gateway says different. 2 hrs waiting on the phone and then he got cut off0

The P45 (which is activated and sent automatically)means the claim has been closed, the letters explain why so you don't need to take any further action."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "1
