Virtual viewing (seller)

Hi,
The buyer to our property has pulled out due mortgage issues following the covid19 outbreak. Our seller is still in a position to move forward and so are we. The EA is very enthusiastic about virtual viewing (prerecorded and live) and states they have potential buyers that are interested in viewing the properties virtually.
Have sellers used this method of selling their property in the current market?
What was their experience?
Thanks

I know prospective buyers who are looking at them a lot. They get quite good feedback from those I have spoken to. No-one said they would buy a house based on one, but many have put houses onto a very short shortlist for viewing at the earliest opportunity.0

I am selling my property and have just signed up to Virtual viewing. As we have Home reports in Scotland it means that people will know of any main faults before they sign up to see any properties. I have not done any yet.

I have my place up for sale (was put up in January before the outbreak).
We've had some potential buyers call our EA and ask for a video tour just a few days ago.So I think it’s worth doing if you’re wanting to sell. Of course most people won’t make offers based on a video but people are still looking online and shortlisting properties to view once we’re out of lockdown so if your EA is offering a video service I would take it.0 -
I'd view a recording online.... but I'd not proceed without poking around it for myself in person.... unless I already knew the property, or the type and the price were spot on.... which is nigh on impossible. There is one I'd buy right now, sight unseen, as I saw it 15 months ago... but they'd probably try to bang £20k on the price (just because some people always think it's worth what they paid) ... and I'd not bother.
You've gotta have a good poke around.... it's compulsory.0 -
Virtual viewing is as good as photos which means not a substitute for a physical viewing"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

Definitely a good way to narrow down potential physical viewings. Not a substitute for it though.0

I used photos / videos of a way of rulinh properties in / out.
Never would I consider buying a property without a physical viewing as you need to get a 'feel' for the property, neighbours and area.
A video would not show a maisonette I viewed smelling of stale cigarette smoke.
Perhaps it works with BTL as the LLs view as a business rather than their home.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
We have had a virtual viewing of 2 properties. Yes they are great for initial yes I like this property or no, definitely not. They are not foolproof as don't give a sense of scale, a small person holding the camera will make rooms seem taller and vice versa. It has helped rule out 1 property and make us want to view another once we can.May you find your sister soon Helli.

I was planning to view a property last year and then watched the EAs video - it actually put me off and I cancelled the viewing, made me realise that it was quite cramped0
