I have a car that is affected by this. I have seen a company ‘Claim for me’ is it safe to use this company?
Or is there a better way to claim?

The only outfit who are actually claiming are Slater and Gordon. Everybody else is a chancer on their coat tails.
S&G are not taking on new people to their class action, and haven't been for a while.

What are your actual losses?
Did you own your car prior to September 2015, when the news broke?1 -
This is the one that is appearing regularly on facebook.
OP - be aware that this is not no win no fee, so they will be recovering costs if they lose, and they will take a substantial cut if they are successful. You will need to quantify your losses. No such thing as free money.0 -

Stay well clear. I doubt these claims will succeed and you’re on the hook if they don’t.0

I bought my Jetta when it was 10 months old in July 2008 thinking I was doing a good thing for the environment. When all this broke the value plummeted. I still have it but feel that I should change to electric. Thanks for all the advice, I’ll steer clear of this company.1

And did the value really "plummet"? Not that it made any difference to you, of course, because you weren't selling at the time.1 -
Hard to quantify health damage due to emissions.0

Especially since the VW "cheat" was related to NOx, and the cars were well within the relevant Euro limits and passed the relevant Euro testing regime.2 -
Some people are simply lured by the thought of £££ and don't actually think. My previous car was a Golf GT 2.0tdi which was affected by this "issue". Did I jump on the bandwagon? No, because I didn't actually suffer any loss (that could be attributed to the "issue").0
