Furlough or tax code change

Apologies if this has previously been asked but couldn't find the topic.
I have heard that there won't be any actual payments if you are furloughed but that your tax code will change instead, could anyone advise if this is correct or is this simply not true.
Many thanks Dave

No, totally untrue. Furlough pay is paid in the form of normal gross wages. Your tax code will stay the same, unless of course it was due to change this month anyway.

Not true.  Your money comes from your employer, they are the ones who are dealing with it.  It's a new tax year and employees would not have the tax paid for a code reduction to work.
  • Thanks for clearing that up, a bit releaved to be honest!
    Very quick replies much appreciated
