New laptop please comment on these suggestions

I need a new laptop, my old has gone slow and even a new drive doesn't help, so rather than waste more money.
(In case you are interested I did get a new drive as suggested here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6120648/windows-pc-very-slow#latest 
and no good, more and more I think never fix anything just replace - but that is for another time.).
What do people think about these laptops - good deals??

I personally hate Dell laptops, mainly because they are too expensive for what you get.
I am on my second Asus Zenbook (purchased from box.co.uk), I think that their quality is exceptional, although the prices have gone up a bit lately.
The Asus in the first link is ok, although I suspect is all plastic, which is a shame given the price.

Are you stating that you fit a new SSD, not HDD, to this spec of device; 
Processor Intel i5-5200 CPU @2.20 GHz, 

Ram 8.0 GB

and clean installed Windows 10 to it, but it made no difference?
I don't believe it.

I did put a new SSD 1Tb in it, I haven't tried reinstalling windows though.  I will have to try that, thanks for that.

Yes, the suggestion was to clean install the OS and then move data over from the old drive, not to clone the old problems on to the new drive.
Which model exactly, did you purchase?

Sorry my mistake, I am not sure because I couldn't do the work myself and I paid someone to do it (someone who normally knows what he is doing).
