BA FLight Voucher

We did'nt travel for our package holiday a month ago, just before lockdown. BA announced they were offering vouchers. We applied straight away having been told 48 hrs wait for the voucher. This then went to 4 days, then a week, now its been a month. We get automated replies from Twitter and Facebook, my Resolver letter has been ignored.
Has anyone one here got their voucher? Is there anything legally we can enforce? Perhaps under contract if they offered a voucher then failed to provide it?

Thanks.

I can understand that it's frustrating when deadlines are not met, but BA must have 100's of 1000's of these to deal with, and need to do it with a depleted workforce as well.  There is little point in trying to escalate it as they don't have the staff to deal with escalation letters either.  All you can do is wait. After all you can't use the vouchers yet anyway.

When you say a package holiday, did you make the refund approach via your tour operator (British Airways Holidays or another tour operator) - or did you try and manage to somehow access your BA flight reservation booking and click on a link to request a refund/amendment/credit?

Out of all the current reported issues with refunds/credits, British Airways Holidays seems to have been one of the rare ones who have been actioning requested refunds without delay and within the regular 14-day period.

We booked with BA it was a package so flight and a hotel, nowhere on the e-mails does it mention BA Holidays.

We chose not to cancel, we just did'nt travel as we were concerned we would not get back. It was applied for via the ba.com/confidence which is rather ironic. We never got a reply or confirmation, nothing.

The annoying thing is they promised it within a deadline, I am still unsure of the value of the voucher, if its not 100% then maybe we could of travelled.

This point might be answered if you received an ATOL Certificate shortly after making your booking, which should be the case if you booked a Package or Linked Travel Arrangement. On that certificate it should give information as to if British Airways Holidays is the supplier, or if something different.

I can understand why you did not cancel - or at least press a "Cancel" button.  If fact BA tell you not to "IMPORTANT: Please do not amend or cancel your booking in Manage My Booking - we will do this on your behalf." I suspect there might just be time lag on sorting out your application under the ba.com/confidence offer.   The reservation possibly recording you as a No-Show at departure and now some manual intervention required to match your application to defer against your booking.

My wife works(ed) at the airport and she got them to put a note on the booking about it. No, no ATOL certificate, I hope we get the money for the hotel as that was non refundable. My main point now is we did'nt get told the value of the voucher, we only paid one sum for hotel and flight, there was no breakdown for the flight and hotel cost. So I can understand the delay in the  voucher. But how do I know the value of the voucher until it arrives?

There is also some irony, the only reason we booked this holiday was to use the compensation I fought for for 6 months when our flight got cancelled...by...you guessed it!
