Charged twice

OK, finally my insurance company, after long investigation, resolved the issue. It turned out that I made 2 insurances for my car (at the same day) and so I was charged for both of them. Now they kindly proposed to cancel one of them and me paying the cancellation fee + some charge for the period the second insurance was active which is in total £86. Having no patience to continue further, I kindly agreed. Still £86 is much better than £411. Once my insurance expires next year I will cancel the renewal and will never deal with Lloyds Car Insurance company again.

Still I wonder how same car can be insured in same insurance company twice (with same person, same address, phone etc.). But after tens of emails and dozen phone calls I really have no desire to investigate this interesting subject further.

Yes.
It because these co's have T/C that allow them to charge for damage etc. So Visa decided that the authorisations can sit there for longer.
