Lease hire vehicle uncollected due to Covid 19

Hi, My 3 year lease hire with a Nissan Juke came to an end on 28th March and I had arranged its inspection and collection on 23rd March. Due to the lockdown the vehicle was not collected. RCI finance left me in the dark until I contacted them asking what was happening. They have said the collection agency is not operating during the Corona lockdown and have asked me to keep their vehicle insured for the foreseeable future and offered me an extension to the contract which I declined. I have a different car now and currently paying insurance on both and the Nissan is taking space on my drive. The car is out of contract and I am not driving it and I paid for it to be valeted prior to collection. What if any are my responsibilities in respect of the Nissan car? I don't see why I should be paying for insurance and I am not sure if the Insurance company need to be informed about the situation. I am in effect storing a vehicle for them and paying £35 a month insurance on it for them.

Timing is lousy, but I think you have a duty of care over the vehicle until it's collected. I would leave it on your drive and keep insuring it. You can then argue about claiming back insurance costs later. If you don't insure it and it gets damaged or stolen, you will be held liable.0

hi there i have ordered my first ever lease car in February and everything was all set and just was waiting for the car to be made by Mercedes but then due to covid-19 the factories have shut which is understandable and the car was ment to be delivered last month. i have regular contact with them about any news of it being delivered but no idea when it will arrive. i haven't paid anything as of yet for it but just wanted to know where i stand when it arrives should i be entitled to some form of discount or am i able to cancel this agreement?0

Why would you be entitled to a discount when you haven't paid anything yet?
Check your contract to see what it says about your cancellation rights.0 -
