We clap and praise these special NHS staff and they are very special indeed. Let's raise a glass to the Dustmen, postman, and not forgetting the Supermarket staff who make it possible for us to shop for our food. Bless you all folks.

When shopping I always thank the staff (at a safe distance) for working3

Yes 100% - I work for the NHS and find the singling out of us to be quite embarrassing.
There are countless people in this country (and others) ensuring we are safe, have water, power and heat, have food and many other aspects of life we take for granted.
Hats off to you all !!
Can I also plead with the companies that keep sending us “free” stuff - although the gesture is very much appreciated - we have enough, please think of those who don’t have enough- Thanks

But I know others do so much, as I said an hour ago to the driver who delivered our online groceries for the week.
Thx to all who are showing the very best of mankind in dangerous circumstances. And shame on the minority who are still flouting Govt stipulations such as distancing measures.3 -
And the poor children, lets not forget them, they are so brave as well0

Carers, poorly paid, and usually undervalued, have been absolute stars.
Many still don’t have the PPE and, up until this week, have been largely forgotten by the government. You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.1 -
Although those still working and having to face risks on a daily basis to help save lives or just keeping things
moving in general, should get the recognition they deserve. The clap and other tasks to support them may
seem silly when you look at how my neighbours treat it.
As soon as there is a mention of an event they have a party. Not joking, not just the family in the household but
other family members and friends. The previous one it was a BBQ with more than a dozen people.
Makes a mockery of the system.

I will say only that I agree wholeheartedly with Morglin ( carers are treated scandalously both during the corvid emergency and the rest of the time too); and with lincroft who points at some of the private care companies who are interested purely in profit and not in residents/patients nor in their own staff-----if ever a sector needed a Royal Commission to look at ways of changing this sorry state of affairs it is the private care sector.0
