Do you get more offers from Amex if you have more cards?

The offers that show up in the app (i.e. £50 off £400 spend at Google)?

Would I get more offers with another Amex card? I'm sure I've seen people say this before, but since they all use the same account, I'm not sure?

  • ...and just to add to that, I wonder if there is a link between the number/value of offers and the size of any annual fee?

I had 2 Amex cards - one that was used on a daily basis and one that was used for work expenses and work-related travel.

The one that was used daily had around 40 offers on it at one point and the one that was barely used has around 10 offers on it.

Also the only real difference was the reward on offer - the Cashback card offered money back rewards and the Gold Rewards card offered rewards back in the form of cashback and Membership Points.
  • Different cards have different offers.

They can be targeted based on the card type and your spend profile.
  • Agree with you. Thank you

Yes, as many Amex Cards as available, particularly one Platinum and one Gold-----and you get more ( and different sorts of ) offers. Amex Cards have always had their critics, usually because of fees but also because some retailers used to refuse to accept them;  but I have had at least one all my adult life and I have found them to be a real asset.
  • I find that I regularly have about ten offers, all for retailers I have never heard of, or unlikely to ever use.

Clearly, the offers are not based on where you do your normal spending!

Up until recently I had around 40 offers on my BA Amex. This has reduced to around 10-15 the last few weeks.

My account tells me I've saved approx. £100 using offers in the past year.
  • The more cards you have, the wider the spread of offers you'll have access to.

    Thanks everyone.
I guess I will eventually get another then. I've only had the Plat cashback for 6 months, so no point getting a gold card or anything as I won't get the rewards, and getting a basic card would be kinda pointless?

It depends - you have cashback already so would you be interested in earning Avios points or Membership Reward points?
