I like some of Dave Ramseys ideas but not all of them. I feel we are a little bit at a time people and wish I have been paying more into a pension. I don’t want to wait any longer to start doing that.
lots of quotes to get and conversations to have and also it depends on what money we do get. Definitely looking forward to getting rid of the loans though straight away!

Morning all!
We haven’t received the money yet but hopefully will be the end of the month. We still can’t believe this is happening to us it is going to change our lives. I can’t wait to post on here when all the transactions are completed. We have updated our budget accordingly and I am ready to start a new mortgage free diary as soon as possible. Our Christmas is going to be a quiet one. It’s been a busy few months with lots of illness so we all need a good rest. No parties. We have a few days out planned and then Christmas Day with family. It’s husbands last full working day today although he has a half day tomorrow. The children need to buy presents for us and each other and husband need to get himself some stocking fillers and then we are done.
Budget is ok. Because of all the illness we have gone over for food as we sought quick meals but we know we need to go back to batch cooking in the new year as it was so much cheaper and easier.Anyway, Hope everyone has an amazing Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I think I would pay off all the debts and then put remainder into a saver until you have saved up enough for the work you want done. Not paying the loan will mean you have more to save every month. Though paying some of it into a pension is a good idea.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

Very much looking forward to going into a new year with 0 debt. First time since either of us were 18. Isn’t that a sad tale.
