Balance transfer

in Credit cards
I have a balance transfer card with a small amount to pay off. Will be paid this month.
Can I add on additional spending on it. E.g pay off holiday with it without being penalised. I still have 12 months left on the agreement without being charged a high apr.
Thanks in advance

You won't be penalised but, with a very few exceptions, you'll be charged interest on the purchases (unless you have a 0% promo on them), if you don't clear the entire balance in full.0

The 0% *usually* only applies to balances transferred within a couple of months of account opening. However card companies are required to allocate payments you make to the most expensive part of the balance first.0

If you add spending to a BT card you will probably incur interest charges on the purchase unless you clear the WHOLE balance i.e. card balance = 0. And typically you can't clear a purchase balance before it hits your statement either. So all in all if you don't want to pay interest on it, find another way of paying (unless your card is one of the very few exceptions which allows you to clear your purchase balance with zero interest). It'll be in the T&Cs0
