Our RelievedSheff said:We had similar with our smart meters not sending readings last year. Apparently it was a glitch in their system. The meters were sending the readings but their system was not allocating the readings to our account.
I reported the problem over their web chat and it was all sorted again with in half an hour. We have not had a problem since.
"I am not able to contact the meter to gain any reads so I requested a specialist team to resolve the connection between the meter and ourselves. I cannot give an accurate timescale for the resolution due to the extra holiday dates we have coming up but i expect for this to be resolved soon."
"We are this year sending messages to smart meters that are first generation and newer smart meters to help with connection this will be done remotely and there will no action required by yourself "
They said it should be resolved before our next bill which is March, nothing has been resolved as of today, keeping a track of all my meter readings though just in case.

You should keep a track of your readings regularly, whether you think the meter is sending them or not.. Three months between bills is a long time to find out summat has gone wrong.
Just look at all the threads where people have had meter faults and estimated readings because they didn't check either their bills are readings in a timely manner but just either hoped or expected that the system was infallible.
If you keep your own monthly records then you've got your own evidence if it goes awry - you get an early indication when or if it does which makes it a lot easier to resolve than 3, 6 or 12 months down the line.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
It would be helpful if posts about smart meters could make it clear whether posters are talking about a SMETS1 or SMETS2 meter. If posters have a SMETS2 or SMETS1 meter that has been enrolled and adopted by the DCC then by signing up to N3rgy.com posters can see whether their meter is transmitting data to the DCC hub. If data is present, then the fault sits within the secure link from the DCC to the particular supplier. This secure link is known as an Adaptor - software that has built into it layered security. No big supplier would wait months to fix its Adaptor as without it no transfers can take place and no bills can be raised. My guess is that BG is talking about its rollout of firmware to enrol SMETS1 meters on to the DCC hub. All smart meters retain usage data for c.13 months.0

@[Deleted User] I have smets1 meters. Just signed up with N3rgy. No data was visible on signing in, so I tried downloading any available data but on opening the files/spreadsheets were empty!
My question is...If data for myself or anyone's meters were available, is it visible the moment that you login or only after you have downloaded it?
Thanks0 -

I've just switched to british gas from octopus. but I have a british gas smart meter because I was with them before octopus. but the one I have is one of the first generation smart meters, so whether or not it works with my new british gas account remains to be seen.0

We have a 1st generation one and have started having issues but they said it would get sorted, remains to be seen.0

I believe the very earliest BG Landis & Gyr meters aren't upgradable and have to be replaced. The next generation will take a firmware upgrade, whenever they finally get around to it.
