Groupon failure

Hi
I'm hoping for some help, about two weeks ago we ordered a side awning for our garden on Groupon, only when I got a confirmation email did I realise that we had accidentally ordered two. I got in touch with them as soon as I managed to locate how to contact them and asked if they could amend our order we placed 20 minutes previously. They told me they could not we would have to cancel whole order and be refunded with credits and then purchase one awning again. I explained how it had just been an error we still want one of them but the online chat conversation repeatedly went round in circles as I wasnt satisfied with cancelling the whole order and receive their credit. Eventually they said they would continue the chat via email and kept explaining that this is all they could do due to coronavirus situation. Anyhow we currently cannot order the awning and we have £100 of Groupon credit neither is of any use to us. They've taken our money and yet we've received no item. I wanted to no where we stand legally and if anyone has any help or advice for us.
Thank you

See other Groupon threads for advice. It appears that when you buy things through Groupon, your purchase is actually vouchers, which you then use to buy goods. If that's what happened in your case, your rights are to be refunded in the manner in which you paid, which is in groupon vouchers or credit.
If you ordered the items directly from Groupon (without buying vouchers or credit as an intermediate step) then they must refund you in the same manner, i.e. back onto your card if that's how you paid.
This is the trouble with Groupon. Chasing a discount is all very well but it adds a party to the chain, and when problems occur, this is the result.0 -
Because the item is currently not available to order I cant work out whether it was a voucher purchased or just the item. I presumed it was just the item?0
