Temporary agency worker furlough

I was a temp worker for a company who laid me off the day lockdown was announced. I have asked the agency over and over whether they will furlough next, but up to now, 3 weeks later, they keep saying they are looking into it. I don’t know what to do, as I think this is an unreasonable amount of time, and I cannot claim a benefit until I have been told either way. I have had no money since I was laid off and still have no idea whether I will get any at any time from the agency, who are my employer.

Although an agency can furlough staff, I don’t think many will for the simple reason they have to pay out and then reclaim it. So I would be looking at alternatives instead i.e. benefits or another job.

Please sign the petition to get the government to give temp workers furlough pay between gigs. If you can share it a d get others to share that would be great. Thank you for your time.sorry if I'm not mean to post this here.

You do not need to wait until you have been given an answer to claim universal credit. Currently it takes 5 weeks from applying to getting your 1st payment if eligible, it would be better to start this sooner rather than later.1

Hmm, I wouldn't hold my breath for any help from your agency...

Everything posted above is my personal opinion. It may be right, it may be wrong, but it is mine.
