PDSA - free treatment

Hi there,
My brother recently took in a rescue dog who is 7. She has severe issues with her teeth from years of abandonment. He is on Universal Credit and housing benefit and is long-term written off work due to mental illness.
I work with a dog charity so when he got the dog I paid to have it microchipped and didn't think too much at the time but gave them my details. I've called the vet and these can be put into his name for a small fee but cannot change the 'name' without a written form. Part of me thinks it's best the dog remains in my name/address because if it does go missing, I would answer the phone and be able to pick it up etc. whereas my brother suffers severe mental illness and will not answer the door or his phone.
PSDA have agreed he qualifies, but it just hit me that the dog is microchipped in my name - if I explain will they understand? I don't want them thinking there is some fraud or something going on. Any advice?

They will only suspect fraud if you are claiming for free pet treatment from them in your own name already . They have a strict 1 pet rule from memoryEx forum ambassador

Could you register the microchip with your brothers name ( so he shows as the owner) but your contact details? I'm sure if you explain it will be fine. There must be other people who have learning disabilities or poor mental health that this applies to.1

You may be bale to put the chip in your brother's name but you as a second contact person and then your phone number. That way if the dog was lost and the owner traced through the chip if you answer but are not on the record that may cause problems.1
