Any mser's had a chance to try latest ios/android banking app.

Not sure what was in today's news, but Snoop seems to have been around for a few months already. I haven't looked at the app itself as I have spent way too much time looking at various similar apps. The description of Snoop doesn't sound exciting to me but it will no doubt be relevant to some people.1

I signed up a while ago when it was invite only. Perhaps it's been released in to the wild now for the riff-raff to use.
In exchange for granting Snoops read-only access to their bank and credit card accounts, punters get 'helpful' tips like these:
Avid readers of MSE will likely be aware of such things anyway.
Edited to add: it does show account balances too.4 -

Does seem to be maybe slightly more useful than Emma though early times for Snoop.
What I enjoy about these type of Apps is the spending trends, rather than focusing on available balances.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
I've just started using Snoop. I've tried using open banking with the mainstream banks, but it doesn't always seem to work. Only a couple of providers show savings accounts, and not all organisations are usable with the app, so it seems to be of limited benefit.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1

@surreysaver
I hope HL funds are authorised at some point, Emma certainly provides a link to send user support direct to HL.
As I only use RBS for daily banking, then I don't require any more to be added.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb1 -
Not one single one of those apps covers all the accounts I have. Some big names are missing - e.g. Coventry BS, and most of them don't cover Investment Platforms. One of the reasons is that the missing ones do not offer an Open Banking API, so the app providers can't sensibly include them. Another reason is that the vast majority of people will have just two or three accounts, and the app providers will, understandably, target the larger section of the market first.
Anyone who has any more than a handful of accounts, and/or has investments, will have to run their own tracking and forecasting tool. For those people, anything from pen and paper to homemade spreadsheets to MS Money / AceMoney will be way better than any of the apps.3 -
It's name has put me off straight away!"Snoop -To pry into the private affairs of others, especially by prowling about."
