Refund on holiday

I’m just looking for advice, I was booked on a hen weekend for may to Ibiza but dropped out due to financial reasons in February, i had paid her  for the holiday which was £470, I asked the lead passenger to cancel me off and get me my money back as jet2 states if you cancel within 70 days you only lose your deposit, she wouldn’t do this and said she would need to find someone to go in my place which she did but I’ve not received any money back so presuming this holiday has been given away, now jet2 has officially cancelled this holiday so it doesn’t exist can I tell the lead passenger I want a refund? I know others in the party are wanting a full refund and a couple want to rebook for a later date, I’m just wondering where I stand with this? Thanks

Are your sure this is not for the whole booking being cancelled rather than just one person being removed from the booking?

I think your friends explanation is correct and I guess not too many takers for filling your spot on the holiday.

If Jet2Holidays have subsequently cancelled the holiday and a refund has been given and received, I would agree that you should receive your share back.  If only a credit note given this would remain with the lead name on the booking, used to rebook a holiday or if unused after a certain future date (31 July possibly) then the credit note converted to cash.
