Padlock problem

Needed to get something out of my shed the other day so unlocked the padlock on the door, got what I needed then locked the padlock again. When I came to put the item back into the shed I found the key would only go half way into the padlock!!
Can anybody suggest what might have happened and how I can get the padlock open again? Have already spent a long time trying to get the key to go all the way in but nothing is working.

One of the tumbler pins may be stuck. A squirt of WD-40 should help to free it up.

Try lubrication or WD40 failing this a crow bar unless it's one of those disc padlocks then you could try to unscrew the whole bracket from the shed door or even taking off the door hinges.

That's exactly why I keep my WD40 in the house  :D

I often have to use it to unlock the padlock on my side gate as we get a lot of rain.
