Transferring S&S ISA from HL to Vanguard

Hello All,
I've had a S&S ISA with HL for many years. I don't have a great deal of cash in it, (~£12k) but would like to transfer it to Vanguard. It seems an easier set up for a part time investor like me. Would I be crazy doing it now when the markets are down, or should it not make much difference as it's down on both platforms?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

If you are holding just Vanguard funds that will be available on both platforms, then the transfer might be in specie and you won't be out of the market at all. Otherwise, if transferring cash you will be out of the market for a few days, which is not ideal when markets are volatile, but it is almost 50:50 whether a few days out of the market will be to your advantage or disadvantage.

You have held cash in a S&S ISA for a number of years? Or do you mean it is already invested in something VG ?SteveyJC said:Hello All,

Hi @Alistair31 I just realised my faux-pas. I mean I have ~12k invested in a S&S ISA, not cash held within it. Sorry. Ideally I'd like to transfer the total value of my S&S ISA from HL to Vanguard.if i had known then what i know now0

The only other question I’d have is what makes you think Vanguard is any easier for a part time investor than HL, to the extent that you’d trouble yourself to go through the transfer process? It may be slightly cheaper for your personal circumstances, but easier?0 -
