I want to Delete my whole Instagram account and data associated with it

Hey guys!

Seriously it is very much annoying to know that your data is being sold and used by millions of companies just to target you with their advertisements.

I have deactivated my account, I also knew my data that is being used had so many private conversations, and I’m feeling sick now.

I have deactivated it but don’t know that following these steps and procedures will definitely remove my whole data from the internet or not?

Because knowing that after deactivation, I can log back in any time, it means my data is still there when deactivated, so the chances are that when I delete my whole account my data will still be there.

Because a security researcher has discovered a massive cache of data for millions of Instagram accounts, publicly accessible for everyone to see. The account included sensitive information that would be useful to cyberstalkers, among others. As per study that I have read

Due to such news I am much more concerned with the data that I post/we post online, so are there any ways around to remove it.

Like I want to delete my Instagram account and facebook account too, however I have deactivated them for the time, till I get the proper solution to this.

Your thoughts?

  • Short answer is you cant- once you post on the internet, it is there forever - wish they taught this properly at school - look at the number of public figures brought down by social media/tweets or FB post made 5/10/15 years ago..
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, its just possible you haven't grasped the situation ;)

Google deleting photos from Instagram for the various options available to you.

You can delete photos permanently from your Instagram account but if they have been reproduced elsewhere on the Internet then they will remain. Hopefully any information attached to the latter will be insufficient for viewers to identify the original source of the post.

I guess you are right, well I have found a solution to that and already deleted my account using the steps provided in this guide on how to delete instagram account
In addition to that I also downloaded the whole data in an archive that  have uploaded.
Well never mind, I never uploaded such photos on Insta or Fb that can lead to my privacy concern, so I neglected that thing. as there is no solution to that. Because reproduction is always going on Internet and when something goes live on the internet, iit can't be removed anyway.
So the only option is that we should educate ourselves before proceeding to uploading, that those photos can be used against us to blackmail or whatever reason.
So we should avoid using these apps for entertainment purposes rather for educational concerns.
    Thanks BTW :)

The easiest way to educate people about uploading onto social media is simply to make sure that they realise that anything and everything that they do upload could be visible to anyone worldwide with internet access and that this visibility could well be there for as long as there is a world wide web.
In other words, never post anything that you wouldn't be happy sharing with complete strangers the world over.
