Next Online shopping

I recently purchased items via Next Directory on my account which went in the in the sale the following day so I reordered them intending on returning the original items so I could get them at sale price. The sale items were not delivered & order was cancelled by Next due to Coronavirus. I’ve requested Next honour the sale price but they’re charging me full price to purchase these items, stating that they won’t price match. As a loyal customer I feel this is unfair & would like to know if I have any rights under consumer law

No rights under consumer law, you could return the items you have if they remain in a condition to do so.
  • Yes, Next said I can return items when shops reopen but I won’t be able to purchase them again at sale price. I thought it would be good customer care for Next to honour the sale price as it was Next that failed to deliver the items, although I totally understand that their actions  were due to Coronavirus

If they did that for everybody who has ordered they would be in a worse position financially than they probably are at the moment with no sales and sill expenses to pay.

I am assuming that if they had gone up in price the next day you would exercise your 'consumer rights' to send Next some extra money. No?

Regardless of your expectation, your original question was whether you had Consumer Rights in this situation and the answer is that you don't.
You are reliant on a Goodwill gesture from the retailer which doesn't appear to be forthcoming.
    Sorry.

Due to reopen online sales shortly, might still be in the sale for you to reorder again...
