PayPal dispute

Options
Hi I was wondering if someone can help me out here. I sold a perfume on Depop on the 24th March and unfortunately as I’m a nurse working for the NHS I haven’t been able to get the item delivered. I informed the buyer when she queried and sent off the item on the 9th of April and on the 10th April she opened up a dispute with PayPal saying that never received the item. I explained my situation to them and they still decided in the buyers favour. I checked with Royal Mail and the item was received by buyer on the 11th April and even provided further information saying that buyer has received this item and provided the tracking no. PayPal today has sent me an email saying that they have closed the case as buyer said she shouldn’t have to pay for this purchase and so have decided in the buyers favour again. I cannot contact PayPal as their call centres are closed and am on the verge of tears.

  • I don't know much about paypal but Depending on the item's value, as you have evidence of it arriving and an address to use, you could consider raising your own claim through Moneyclaim online

Is the buyer actually refusing to pay, now that the item has arrived?

Or did the buyer just make a claim to paypal before the item arrived, because the buyer didn't believe that you were ever going to send it?

Maybe start by contacting the buyer to explain that paypal have refunded their payment, so could they make the payment again? For example, they can just send the money via paypal again.

Small claims against the purchaser, if you think the purchaser should have paid you.

It's for you to prove they should havepaid you. Expect the purchaser to rely, at least in part, that paypal ageed with them that no payment was required, despite whatever evidence you provided to paypal to the contrary.
