Expedia - Changed Airport

I booked in January to fly with West jet flying from Manchester to Halifax Nova Scotia. Paid with credit card,
Yesterday received email saying flights would now depart and arrive back from Gatwick.
I only booked  these flights because Westjet advertised new direct flights from Manchester to Halifax starting in June 2020.
I appreciate the Corona virus has disrupted travel but can I claim a refund. It will not be possible to travel to Gatwick without incurring considerable extra expense.
Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you.

I would have thought yes. Have you checked airline's T&Cs? >>>>

Flight refunds will be returned as a future travel credit in the form of a Travel Bank, valid for 24 months. Vacation refunds will be returned as WestJet dollars, valid for 24 months. For those requesting refunds to original form of payment, more information will be provided on this at a later date.

If you booked through a Travel Agent (online or directly), Corporate Travel arranger, or another airline, please contact them directly.

Westjet have cancelled the entire season from Manchester and there are no other easy options. The Canadian government have made it clear they are happy with all Canadian airlines offering vouchers instead of refunds, and it won't be any easier having used Expedia who will probably take forever to get things sorted, but since I suspect we may not be flying anywhere in early June, you may have no other choice but to accept the voucher

Your flight has been cancelled.  Your rights, as per EU261 regulations, are for a refund.  Even though Westjet are Canadian, because your flights departs the EU (well, for now the UK is considered part of the EU for that purpose) they have to follow the regs.

That said, it might not be simple, and everything @Alan_Bowen said is correct.

At the moment very few airlines are following the Regulations, most are making it up as they go along but it is clear that Canadian airlines are intending to follow the Canadian government advice
