I hope people have as happy an Easter as they can in the circumstances.
We had another family Zoom meeting yesterday, although my children failed, only being there for a few minutes each. It was nice to see the others though and I talk to the kids quite regularly anyway.
We're both feeling a bit sorry for ourselves, which is ridiculous considering that we have each other and have our reasonable health. I think the fact that we are dwelling on things is making us hypochondriacal (that doesn't seem to be a word but I hope you know what I mean). I think it's partly that we are used to being the ones able to help the kids and others if need be and now we are reliant on others.
Sorry for the pity party, I'm going to try and shake myself out of it today.12 -
Morning all. And whatever you are doing or not doing, have a Happy Easter. In these grim times it's important to have the odd treat, and what better day to treat yourself than Easter Day.
Gers, I can just imagine you swanning off in your Bubblegum jumper, exciting little cries of envy from passers by.
Camelot, work sounds like a classic case of 'too many chiefs and not enough Indians.'
TA, so you have the skunk problem licked. I'm disappointed that you didn't go for the pink option, but possibly best that you ignore my suggestions. Most people do. Can't think why.
RedRuby, for goodness sake stop keeping so fit. It's going to do you severe damage.
AOD, I love it. "Left the debris to give the new growth some protection." I must remember that one. My mother always had a good excuse for things left undone. "That washing is soaking." "Those beds are airing." "That pastry is resting." I was taught by an expert, but "giving the new growth protection" is a new one.
Nelski, I will be dispatching my Guardian Angel to check on the aqua aerobics at 2. If you are not participating, retribution will be swift and terrible. Just a friendly warning.
That's enough nonsense for one day. As it is the day of rest I will be doing the bare minimum. A brief tidy, preparing enough food to keep body and soul together and nothing else. Beautiful, Glorious, Enviable Nothing.
Except a lot of reading.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
God is working for you today.
Heaven is holding conversations about you.
Angels have been assigned to you.
Be at peace.
I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.13 -
Happy Easter everyone
It's another beautiful morning here, the dogs are chasing each other round the garden and Steve is sat next to me watching the Ukulele Orchestra on YouTube. I have Jesus Christ Superstar lined up and ready to watch in a bit on my YouTube account. Poor Steve is going to have to put up with me warbling away while he cooks dinner.
We are not having our roast dinner until tomorrow so we are having something chickeny today, not sure what exactly yet, I will go and have a look at all our packet mixes in a bit. I think we have a butter chicken mix which I quite fancy. Lee made an amazing carrot cake for my birthday so that is dessert for a few days.
Not planning to do much today, I need to put some stuff away in our bedroom so we can have the fans down from the attic. I was too hot to sleep last night so I have already had a nana nap in front of the tv. Other than that I am going to carry on reading my Harry Potter books on my kindle. I finished watching all the films which were great but so many details were cut from the stories.
Well I hope you all have a great Easter day, where's the chocolate munching emoji when you need it. Take care xx

Good morning all,
I have chocolate cake in the oven - well it is Easter
I didn't intend to do much yesterday but I started cleaning the living room then decided to give it a proper spring clean. As it was good drying weather I washed the curtains and hung them out on the line. I washed half of the french window vertical blinds (soaked them in the bath with some oxy stuff) and I'll do the other half tomorrow. I'm having a day off from housework today.
I also had a G&T last night. It was medicinal because I was aching from all the cleaning - that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Today I need to roll out some more biscuit dough into gingerbread people and make a roast dinner, neither of which are too strenuous. My plan then is to sit and crochet, have a soak in the bath then play online games and chat to best friend for a couple of hours.
Take care and stay safe all of you

Morning campers ! Happy Easter Sunday.I had a lie in this morning but woke with a headache..... too many cocktails I fear
On the plus side Mr Fix It has already made a loaf of bread and it smells luscious, my mouth is watering in anticipation, but it's much too hot to handle at the minute, let alone eat.I am having a day off from hard labour today and although 3 petulant roots remain I shall just ignore them, no matter how they doth protest today. The same goes for the fence painting that I failed to even commence yesterday
As Rhett would say "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a da*n "We have 2 Easter eggs, one each, but as they are different we shall share the contents, only fair I think. We will also have have an easy tea, I fancy egg and chips. I really want a roast lamb Sunday lunch, but I didn't think to order a lamb joint, anyway I didn't have the freezer room to warrant it and it wasn't on my list of priorities. Today the temperature is said to hit 18 degrees so I shall be dipping my toes in the party pool..... no aerobics for me thank you very much, that's even worse than working in my own chain gang. No cocktails either, perhaps a mocktail or 2, but I still want an umbrella in it. So I will be sun bathing, film watching and Easter Egg munching my way through the day.Take care all, enjoy the day as best as you can.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
Afternoon! My excursion was successful. I felt a tad guilty jumping the queue at Waitrose though I explained to the folk waiting that I was only collecting an order. I was in and out in under five minutes. I also collected my new water bottle which should stop me spilling the glass all over the bed side table. Thanks.I wore my new bubblegum jumper and felt all spring-like and cheery.SNOOZER - sorry you feel so flat, it's a sign of the rotten times. I hope that you feel better soon. xxNAN - no eggs here, I've eaten too much chocolate over the past few weeks and it's beginning to show.

Me too Gers, much too much comfort eating, but I'm going to blame my thyroid

Happy Easter everyone
Quite dull today compared to yesterday - I'm envious of anyone who has sunshine. It was quite chilly sitting outside chatting to mam and dad this morning...dad was happy with his chocolate button Easter egg. Mam would have liked to be able to church.
I have my Sunday Times to read and am still working on my plan to adapt little one's baby vests.
Eldest DD in Stockholm is moving to a new apartment today so she is very excited, especially by the fact that she will have a balcony to sit on! She informed me this morning that she is now an adult because she has too much stuff and has had to book a man with a van! She's 23.
Do any of you get Morrisons deliveries? I was pleased because our local store is starting deliveries and I managed to book a slot this morning. But they only had a small amount of products...it seemed strange. So I didn't bother doing an order.
Hope you all have a good day. Feel in a bit of a grump, but I have chocolate so I'll survive!

DP1 - we have sunshine again, it seems to enjoy a long-lie in and only appears once I've been out and about.I really wanted to binge-watch Spooks but stopped as the almost constant dramatic music hurts my brain!
Now I'm stuck with 'Death on the Nile' for the umpteenth time. 8
