Old Style Easter Sunday 12 April 2020

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning message.

Good morning, and thanks Gers for starting. It's sunny here, I hope it continues.Dumpling, happy birthday for yesterday, hope you enjoyed your day.I went to A*di yesterday, it was well organised as they all seem to be now, the only thing I couldn't get was flour, I like to have a spare bag of each, but my containers are full, so that'll do. I'm sure it will reappear again.I diddled yesterday,, in my Ken Dodd like fashion (made me laugh Monna) and hope to diddle more today. Just general tidying and washing, and we'll go out for a walk - we managed a walk to the park yesterday.Hope you are all ok - take care folks.15

Good morning folks. And a very happy Easter. 🐣
Today doesn't look as inviting as yesterday, although it too had a dull start. My plan is to put on my new bubblegum pink jumper (and other appropriate clothes) and go out to the shop. Unlike our more religiously observant neighbours Scotland is a heathen place so everything remains open on Easter Sunday. I'm going to collect my new water bottle (thanks for the suggestions) and a new bedding set from JL. Out of the two sets I have here one was a hasty purchase last year which I don't like. It's the material which is the problem not the pattern. Despite being 100% cotton (from M&S) it's never softened down enough for me to enjoy it. With a bit of luck the new lot will be better. That's my day apart from watching Spectre, that's my number one favourite in my list of top two Bond films.I had to 'reprimand' CAMELOT last night. 😱 She posted about having a G&T which drove me to drink. 🥃 Just the one! 😇😇
Now I wish everyone a peaceful, chocolateful and happy Easter Sunday. The strangest one of our time.15 -
Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Sunny bright start to the day, had heavy rain during the night but it's all dried up already.
DH watching tv, DS1 still in his pit, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and breakfast bar. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was grilled pork loin, sausages, burgers, kebabs, pasta in a creamy mushroom sauce (menfolk) I had salad with mine. Today we'll be having roast chicken and pork - with the trimmings.
Menfolk got jobs done outside, grass front and back, general tidying of the garden done yesterday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Happy Easter!
It's a bit grey this morning, hopefully it will brighten up later. Apart from scraping out the front drive I've run out of things to do in the garden until I can get some plants grown. I did plant out the sweet peas yesterday, maybe a bit early but they were getting too big to stay in their pots.
A friend gave me a pile of books a couple of weeks ago, most are good but the one I started last night was utter rubbish so that can go in the bin - don't even want to pass it on it's that bad! I bought a couple for my kindle last night so they should keep me going.
No big walk today but I will toddle down to Aldi for some essentials in a while. I'm in work tomorrow so will need something to snack on, apparently it's very boring with only 2 children and 5 staff!
Sorry Gers, the sunshine made me do it!
Have a good Sunday, take care. XX14 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. No sun this morning and feels cooler than the last few mornings. I don't foresee any sitting out in the garden this afternoon unlike the last 3 afternoons.
I am no longer sporting the skunk look! I addressed my roots and fading colour this morning. I have placed an on-line order with Boots for 2 more boxes, as well as a few other bits and pieces. But crikey there were loads of out of stock items and the site was limping along even more slowly than me!
My Easter chocs were dropped off on Friday and I have eaten them already! Never mind, I still have the lovely pink and white roses to admire that DD gave me! And the tray of pansies that DS left are now in pots in the back garden. Our lovely local garden centre, which had to close along with all the others, has started taking telephone orders for delivery. DD has ordered some stuff and I think I might ring them after the Easter break and see what they have in the way of geraniums for the front.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care and stay safe xxx

Morning all Happy Easter
Nice bright day here again its been a lovely few days and its very peaceful everywhere which is nice.
I have stripped the beds and got them on a wash will hang them out and OH will re make them later. Need to put some washing away this morning and have a sweep through.
The Tour de France continues but I thought keeping fit was meant to so you good ?? I have a bruised and swollen ankle, my inner thighs are sore from chaffing, yesterday my back 'went' mid cycle and my lady bits feel squished
Other than that Im sure its doing me some good !!
Dinner today will be another bbq we have salads etc left from yesterday so no great effort, there will probably be a film and a nana nap this afternoon then dinner and a glass of wine in the garden.
Have good days all and stay safe xx12 -
Good morning and here we have sun again, though heavy rain is forecast for the evening.
Yesterday I forced myself to do a bit of tidying in the front garden, there are two borders with euphorbia and cranesbill but both full of the debris of last year's stalks. I left them to give the new growth some protection but needed to get them cleared so that the new growth has more room. Plus messing about generally in an aimless fashion.
This is the first easter where I have no easter eggs for my chaps. Strange times.
Been out to look at the back garden and lots of planty things are going on now, plus trees coming into leaf. This is my favourite time of year.
Hello Wraithlady, sorry to hear about your mother in law's accident.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back15 -
Morning
Gers the jumper is lovely and I would have chosen that colour too in fact far to much of my wardrobe is pink for my age
Weather looking slightly less reliable in the real world but of course it will be a perfect afternoon by the pool in holiday world. Last full day so remember to get here for cocktail hour or for the energetic its aqua aerobics at 2
Roast pork and crackling with all the trimmings for dinner and I made some mini egg brownies yesterday for pud. Going to leave some on my neighbours step later for being there when I needed them. More washing in ....not sure how I get through so much I also am living in shorts makes a nice change from pjs i guess. I did order some nice new ones but the latest update on delivery is next Sat.....really that will be 3 weeks after the promise of next day delivery. I know times are hard but now I remember why I avoid any company that use Hermes delivery. What with our postmen still on strike after a week there is only Amazon left who are reliable for parcel delivery here. 1st world problems I know
Enjoy your eggs everyone the diet can start tomorrow

Morning all! We are having a continuous streak of good weather. It is again sunny. I thought yesterday it's been nearly two years since I went to actual work. I'm beginning to wonder how I managed it. I can't for the life of me explain where the first hour goes in the morning and that's every morning. I get up, time disappears, I start writing a post and an hour has gone [that's not even finishing a post mind...]Anyway, more of the same today. We washed and rinsed all the glass yesterday in a production line of me washing and OH rinsing and squeegeeing. How come I am rubbish at washing dishes [ if anyone wants a meal on a plate that contains the last meals leavings, come round!] but I excel at greenhouse glass? And it was very very grubby in parts. Todays delights are attempting to put it all back in again without breaking because I only have one piece of justin left over from when I originally put it up. I also put a skirt of black rubber stuff around the bottom [ an upskirt?] on two sides to try and stop the inevitable flooding when it rains. This was another justin, left over from when I had a stud wall built in the flat. I'm using up all the carp that's been lying around...Pretty soon we'll have a garage you can walk into without performing a complicated bend and twist and duck step....Have a great day at the Spa to all who are going, I'll raise a glass cup of tea to you all later on. Go steady TA, relaaaaxxxxx, like Money Supermahhhhhhhket....Nelski, what a lovely though...but...are you sure you don't need just one teeny weeny piece more for being such a great host? WL, sorry you're having a poo time, hope it improves. Nice jumper Gers, now spruce up the rest of your attire a la Tank Girl
Nanny, rest day for you! Ruby, I'll look out for the yellow jersey....or should you be resting too? Right, more tea vicar, hey all reading along, Salubrious Sunday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12
