Hello,
Im asking on behalf of a friend who wanted to remain anonymous..

She is currently studying in the second year of her second degree, so didn't expect to be eligible for a tuition fee loan but it got approved. Could this count as an overpayment and student finance england demand the money back immediately?

It would seem this isn't an overpayment, because its the amount they said they would pay. And surely they can't just turn around and say they've changed their minds?

It's very difficult to ascertain whether this would count as an overpayment, so any help would be great!

THanks!

Yes, if she was not eligible for it then it could be an overpayment and she will need to pay it back. It won’t be that they have changed their mind, but that an error has been made. Did she inform them that this was a second degree?

Tell your friend that honesty is the best policy otherwise it will return and bite her/him in the butt, when they least expect it.

It depends what she is studying. There are several full-time degrees (such as medicine, PGCE etc.) and loads of part-time degrees that you can get full funding for if you already have a degree.
