Hi all i've tried searching the forums and couldn't find anything that helped with a question i have but apologies if it has been asked before.
Unfortunately my mum died on new years day, I have sorted everything of her estate out however i am still stuck chasing her pension/death in service payout. She worked in a school so its run by the local council. After i informed them they told me they would need to send a letter to my nan and she was at the time of joining the nominee because i was only a child and the money would have been left to my nan to help raise me.
I have called and chased them multiple times because they have not yet sent any paperwork out to my nan - they told me on 1 call it should be with her by the end of the week that was a month ago.
Now they are saying there is a delay due to working from home with the virus. Whilst i appreciate the extraordinary circumstances we are in they cant tell me when they will send this paperwork out to my nan to ask her how much she is happy to "give up". I don't know how long normally this process takes but its the last thing to sort out which means i am still keeping lots of mums paperwork just incase, i don't really care about the money i just want to be able to be able to sort everything out and not have to keep chasing them up.
Does any one have any experience dealing with LGPS? how long does or should the process normally take?

I'm sorry you had such a rotten start to the year and that this isn't being sorted out as quickly as you would hope.0
