PCN CHARGE AND CONFUSED BY ALL THE LANGUAGE AND ACRONYMS ON HERE
I have read through a number of threads and discussions trying to understand what's the best thing to do. I dont understand it when people write lots of NKD and PKD and I get lost with what's its trying to tell me .
So...... with that in mind , I appealed to Parkit Management ( part of PCN solutions) for an overstay in a car park of around 30 minutes. I was in an interview that had run over and I couldn't leave. When I got back to the car park I was aware I had gone over but didn't know how to pay for another ticket as it would state the current time , not the time I'd gone over ( if you see what I mean ), so I appealed I didn't wait the 21 days which seems to be what other threads have told me ) and I received an answer in under a week saying no chance pay up basically. They say I can appeal independently to the www.theIAS.org and they will comply with that . I have been informed reliably or not as the case may be that this is a waste of time . So my question is . Is it a waste of time ?should I ignore it all and call their bluff? should I write to my MP? Thank you for any help ful advice and sorry if I sound thick but I just can't comprehend things at the moment as well as I used to be able to do , whether its the lock down , my age , or both I dont know.
PS I can't find the legal owner of the car park , the council said at first it was their land , then changed their minds and said it wasn't :-( I have tried to look on the land registry but there isn't a proper address , its just called the 'car park at the back of the magistrates court, High street Lincoln. LN5 7QA. I have emailed the magistrates court to ask them but as yet have not had a reply.
Thank you
Gem

Have you read the NEWBIE sticky amongst all the threads you have read. If not, do so (it is on first page of the forum second or third thread down normally) and if you did, did you get as far as the fifth post where all the acronyms are explained?3

Ir you are confused then you are not reading enough. This is a complicated subject and it takes many hours to understand. However, all the information you will need is in the newbies and previous thread, but you will have to look for it.
Of course you should write to your MP, as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams,
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

The acronym list in the 5th post of the NEWBIES thread is up to date.
They say I can appeal independently to the www.theIAS.org and they will comply with that . I have been informed reliably or not as the case may be that this is a waste of time . So my question is . Is it a waste of time ?This is already answered in the 3rd post of the NEWBIES thread, all about not trying the IAS...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for above comments. "Ir you are confused then you are not reading enough" just what you want to hear, clearly you're an expert ?
I have tried to appeal to the IAS however this notice came up 'your PCN or registration number has not been recognised. There is literally no where else to go . I have written to my MP who said sorry can't help you !
I cannot find the owner of the land despite asking the land registry. I feel I have no choice but to let them try and take me to court. All appeals on the IAS have been held off until 25th May due to the current situation. The Parkit Management website says pay up only no other way to contact them except write to their Gainsborough office. I'm not going to waste any more time on this , so I'll let you know what happens.

Hi Gem, I have searched on the Land Registry website using postcode LN5 7QA and it finds:
The Magistrates Court, High Street, Lincoln.
https://eservices.landregistry.gov.uk/eservices/FindAProperty/view/QDSearch.do;jsessionid=pJfm8gilBJApmYIltrpx5ox997Q0qcGCyeInA8Oz.b46504c9:frontend-web-0Try this link, or if it doesn't work, put the postcode in the search box. You can then buy the Title Register and Plan for £6. This should show you who owns the land.Hope this helps.5 -
An interview situation has a range of challenges .... who would dare pop out to buy another parking ticket in such circumstances? Regardless of whether or not you got the job, I'm thinking it might help to contact those who were interviewing you and ask them to email back a brief affidavit confirming that you were unavoidably detained at the job interview.
This could then be attached to the complaint to the landowner.2 -

No, but I like to think that I am not entirely ignorant.
