Furloughed but now employer wants me to go back to work.

Hi I’m just looking for some advise.
I was put on furlough two weeks ago as my employer wanted to help me out because my two children 12 and 7 are now off from school. It had also gone quiet so he wanted to save costs.

However he’s now asked me to come back as it’s mega busy. We supply industrial packaging and equipment aswell as a distributor of PPE to many sectors including food and healthcare.
I am unable to work from home so will need to go in to work. Which then leaves me with what I do with my children.
Usually if I was at work the children would either go to their dads as we are now separated, or to my parents. However my parents are isolated for 12 weeks and my children’s dad has been recalled back to the NHS as he is a paramedic on the Isle of Wight so not only can they not travel but he is now working.
What I’m trying to ascertain is if I would be eligible to send my children back to school as I’m not sure I would be in the list of key workers although it does say the supply to healthcare sector? and also, even though their dad and I are separated, he can’t have them because he is a key worker?
I don’t really know where to go for advise?
Thank you.

I imagine you could be classed as a key worker if the business you work for is supplying PPE equipment. Maybe get in contact with their school if possible.
Take a look at this info for schools

I'm sure it's all explained on there.
Btw, I was going to welcome you to MSE, but I see you created this user account years ago. Congratulations on your first ever post instead

Hi
I’m hoping to hear back today from the school as they will be back from Easter break. At least the school should have some information on the whole situation so may be able to give me some more guidance, thanks0 -
From the furlough rules (http://https//www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-for-wage-costs-through-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme ):Any employees you place on furlough must be furloughed for a minimum period of 3 consecutive weeks. When they return to work, they must be taken off furlough. Employees can be furloughed multiple times, but each separate instance must be for a minimum period of 3 consecutive weeks.
So, you've got a week to sort things out, at least.

Please advise. I have been put on furloung since April. I get 80% of my wages. I normally work 70 hours a fortnight with the furloung it's 56 hours a fortnight. I have just been asked to do 1 day a week. So do I take 14 hours of the 56 hours or do I add 14 hours to the 56 hours. Many thanks zoe0
