Travel claim query

The FCO advice on non-essential travel was given while we were on holiday. The travel agent flew us home but they can’t can’t get refunds for the accommodation or trips booked. The insurance company are saying they won’t pay out but the policy wording is ambiguous - the exemption they quote only states they don’t cover “fear of pandemic”. WHO announced the pandemic the day before we travelled. Is it worth fighting the insurance decision?
