- Our delivery crews are continuing to deliver tech to your homes, and we’ve provided them with antibacterial gel and cleaning wipes to be used before and after each delivery.
- Our crews will call you on the day of your delivery. Let us know if you would prefer a ‘contact free’ delivery to your front door or garage – if not, we’ll deliver to a room of your choice as usual. If anyone in your household is self-isolating because of potential exposure, to protect you and our colleagues we’ll only deliver to your front door (if you need your delivery rescheduling so it can be delivered to a room of your choice, please contact us on the number below or tell your delivery driver when they call you on the day of delivery).
- Based on latest government advice, please keep at least 2m away from our delivery teams at all times. If you can, stay in another room while they deliver your appliance.
- Our delivery crews are following the latest government advice to self-isolate if they experience any Coronavirus symptoms. This means that some deliveries may be changed last minute – we’re working hard to minimise this but please bear with us.

Why not cancel the delivery and reschedule it? Maybe you'll get a different driver on a different day who will be happy to bring it in.1

Bung them £20 to overcome their fears.3

Feel your pain gunner786. My husband and I had the same experience with a recent Curry's delivery. Ordered a washing machine in early March for delivery 3rd week of March. Paid for collection of the old one. On the evening before due delivery, the 'delivery company' called to say they would only deliver into the garden, not indoors and that we would have to put the old machine outside ourselves for collection too.
I did ask how on earth they expected us to carry these very heavy items in and out ourselves but they were adamant they could not enter anyone's house. They said that was now their delivery rules due to Covid-19 lockdown. We did postpone delivery initially but when apparent that lockdown could go on much longer, had to bite the bullet, rearrange delivery and physically lift the items ourselves (no mean feat).
We have noted however that Curry's are still advertising home delivery on TV with no mention that you need to carry heavy items in yourself until you have paid for the item and try to arrange delivery. They even have a video on their website about delivery of big items saying exactly what you have quoted above gunner 786. Seems rather unfair. Maybe Curry's need to speak to their delivery teams?

Maybe customers should have some common sense too, things are changing day to day and if I was delivering I’d not be going into anyone’s home and deliver to there doorstep only

Possibility is Curry’s like other businesses maybe don’t have web administrators working right now that can change delivery details on the side, but most reasonable people would understand the circumstances right now
Can imagine people down the line complaining and wanting compensation because delivery drivers give them Covid195 -
If the delivery companies are not delivering into homes, I have no issue with that but they need to communicate this to Curry's so they can update their information for customers.2

Hi gunner786,
How did you get on with your delivery? I need to order a whole bunch of appliances - a fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer - and not sure how I will move the appliances into the house, especially since it will be just me (mid-30s), my mother (in her 60s) and my daughter (3 years old).
Thanks!

I had a number of issues with Curry's delivery service damage to property and an unwillingness to accept responsibility. Curry's subcontractor the deliveries out to a man in a van who then subsidise it out again to anyone with a big enough vehicle. Curry's would not accept the damage to internal doors were their fault but the carrier company ( consumer law ignored where possible , so a lengthy battle ensued. DO NOT USE THEM. I reordered via AO.com numerous times since and they have been outstanding.-1

I doubt the 3 year old will be much help, but two adults should be able to shift the appliances.prernakapoor said:I need to order a whole bunch of appliances - a fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer - and not sure how I will move the appliances into the house, especially since it will be just me (mid-30s), my mother (in her 60s) and my daughter (3 years old).

Can you borrow a skate from someone? Many appliances aren't that heavy for an adult to move, it's their bulk that makes moving them awkward.prernakapoor said:Hi gunner786,
