Settling debt that defaulted over 6 years ago

Hi, I had debt that defaulted 6 years ago. I have been paying it back at a small amount. This debt has now been removed from my credit score, however I am still paying the debt. I have received a letter from the debt agency with a settlement figure.
My question is
If I was to settle the figure would the debt reappear on my credit score showing partially satisfied? And for how long?

No, it won't.1

If you contact them you may be able to negotiate a lower figure as a final payment (bear in mind the figure they are offering you is probably close to what they paid for the debt) but if the discount isn't well below what you owe then there is no benefit to paying it off early.0

Once an account has dropped off your credit file, nothing that you do can, or will, bring it back again, ever.As the debt is more than 6 years since default, it would be dilligent of you to send a CCA request first, just to confirm the "debt agency" has the legal right to ask you to pay this debt, which incidently it dosen`t, because the correct legal paperwork never leaves the original creditor.Only once you have recieved proof of liability can they claim to be acting legally.
