updated my Macbook!

So my 2016 Macbook Pro is now on Catalina 10.15.4. Not sure what the difference is yet but some apps no longer work.
Adobe PS 5 will not open and Tiast Titanium is the same.  I use these occasionally but not often enough to warrant buying the (very expensive) latest versions.
What should I do?  I want to edit pics, and write slide shows on CDs.
Thanks and stay safe everyone.

Toast Titanium needs to be v18 or higher.
Photoshop needs to be at least v21 to work on Catalina. Adobe say:
    • Are legacy or perpetual versions of Photoshop compatible with macOS Catalina?
    • No, legacy/perpetual versions of Photoshop were not designed or tested to work on macOS 10.15 (Catalina). They are not supported in any way for use on macOS Catalina.
    • Adobe does not recommend that customers using old versions of Photoshop upgrade to macOS Catalina

Have you backed up your old system? It may be necessary to switch back (if possible). It's very common for macOS upgrades to offer very little back-compatibility.
Frankly I'm staying with 10.11 until further notice as every upgrade seems to force me to abandon useful software from before. I'd think very carefully before upgrading and read reviews for a long time before jumping to the next version.

Thanks for answers, I have downloaded Gimp and had a look, it seems very good and free!  Will try burn later.
