12.99 a month but you get:
- 1% cash back on everything
- Free trading on the stock market and 0% commission
- health and travel insurance
- 0% commission on foreign exchange transactions
- airport loungue access
Key point is the free trading and no commission but the other extras add up as well. Is this something worth considering?

As requested on your other thread about this, where are you sourcing the information from, as it differs from what's published on their website?

Apologies it came from a friend and I should have looked into it myself prior to posting.

Suggest you ask for it to be removed.  It's not helpful posting things which are untrue.
How would you feel if someone wasted £12.99 a month on one of these and found out you've essentially made up most of the reported benefits?

  • To be fair - the post is not far off. I have a Metal Plan with Revolut.
I get 1% Cashback in any currency or even cryptocurrency I want. I have already received cashback to all transactions I made. I get vaults which is not exactly a savings account with a 1.35% (its held by a selected Trustee). I get commission-free stock trading (only NYSE) - I have not yet looked into that feature yet so I am not sure whether there is a caveat. I get unlimited FX for some 29 currencies. I get Cryptocurrencies, priority support, concierge, disposable cards, free medical insurance (excludes winter sports) and also the first lounge pass for free - the rest in discounted prices. Plus a number of other insurances such as free lounge pass for flights delayed for more than an hour, luggage delay and flight delay. The only thing missed was the phone insurance; they do provide that however at an additional charge of £1.15/week (for an IPhone XSMax). And I pay £12.99 per month (it is a 12-month contract).
  • I have used the free Revolut plan for more than 6 months and love it. However I am hitting the £1000 per month transfer limit. So I need to upgrade.

I would never pay monthly as its cheaper to pay annually, so I have the option of £70 for the Premium Plan or £116 for the Metal Card. Most people seem to think the Metal cards is unnecessary and a waste of money. Granted its £46 per year more than Premium, but you do get Hire Car Excess cover (which I pay £40 for currently) and you do get 1 free longe pass, which is worth more than £6.00. So for myself, it does seem like a no brainer?

Plus I get a cool looking card, 1% cash back on none EU purchases and 0.1% on EU purchases, not to mention the other perks.

I don't see what is so special about Revolut Metal other than it is something to show off to your mates about.

£12.99 a month is a lot for what you get. The cashback rate in Europe is 0.1% (1% outside Europe) which is pathetic compared to Amex Platinum. I can get free overseas spending with Barclaycard Rewards (plus 0.25% cashback) which costs nothing. Unlimited free overseas ATM withdrawals from Starling which costs nothing. I can make cheap international transfers using Transferwise (it cost me £1 to send £200 to Australia last time I used it). Car hire excess cover costs peanuts (just paid £15 for 10 days cover). And the travel insurance I buy is far more comprehensive than Revolut's overseas medical insurance (I pay £150 a year for me and my partner which includes winter sports).

All this aside, Revolut's customer service is abysmal which I why I stopped using them earlier this year.
  • I liked Revolut Metal - easy to make a profit when the cashback was uncapped, but now it's limited to what the subscription fee is I don't find it worthwhile.

They also love suspending accounts in lieu of carrying out checks when you sign up. If you have the patience to deal with this then fine but I don't trust them enough to keep any money with them.
