Flybe reclaim HSBC

Has anyone had success with claiming back the cost of Flybe flights from HSBC credit card? We booked flights on our HSBC credit card which I applied to get refunded on 10th March, then didn't hear anything for a week or so. I called the bank and was told the money should be refunded within 7 working days from 18th March - it hasn't been. I've called several times since then but have not managed to get through to the right team due to how busy the lines are, someone put a call back request for me but no-one has called me. I don't know if there is a problem or if it will come in the end? I have had to pay the balance now as I was starting to pay interest - neither of which I can particularly afford to do right now. Anyone had any luck?

HSBC use a lot of global departments to action things like this. India has been in total lockdown for quite a while. So NO staff are working there, Meaning more work for UK staff (who many are off sick)
They are also moving to home working which again is causing delays. It will come, just might take a bit longer.

You could pay the balance less the cost of the flights and ask them to write off the interest as you were expecting the refund before having to pay the balance. Can't see any problem with that.
