Seller wants to delay completion

Due to complete at the end of the month, seller feels can't move now and wants to delay a couple of months - TBH not sure what would be a reasonable extension - any thoughts?

Have you already exchanged?0

Until lockdown is over nothing is certain0

If you have exchanged a completion date has been set and if your seller doesn't complete it will be expensive for them. On other other hand if you haven't exchanged yet either party is entitled to withdraw or delay. It would be helpful if you clarified which of these is the position.0

yes we have exchanged (there was an unfortunate long gap - not what I wanted at all)

Just don't know what a reasonable length of time is.0 -
Well, if they mean "after the lockdown ends", nobody knows when that's going to be, so I'm not sure there's much point guessing just now.

Seem to be stuck - not keen to extend completion indefinitely ie until vendor decides that they can move or that "lockdown" has ended which is clearly not going to be suddenly one specific day. removals people may start work when they consider it safe rather than a date they are told.0

Is the problem that they can't find a removal company?
If they can, ( and presumably will be entering an empty property), why can't they complete?0 -
can't get removals, can't look at places to rent to move in to0

Where is your vendor moving too?0

I doubt you can realistically force the issue any earlier than whenever lockdown ends anyway.
