Virgin direct debit

I have a direct debit set up each month for virgin money.
I get paid on the 28th every month, I recieve a statement on the 8th and they always take the money on the last day which is the 28th (due date) , I've rang them up multiple times as I was concerned that as it would take two working days to process i would default on my 0% offer so I was paying in extra money to make sure I did, they did explain that it would be fine if I let the direct debit just come out but in worried it wouldnt work and I'd be charged etc, can anyone help as in the current situation I'm unable to make an extra payment. Thankyou

Just let the DD do its job. You have nothing to worry about.
Don't phone them up any more times.1 -

ThankyouHave you considered asking them to change your statement date to, say, the 20th? That way, you'll get the statement a few days before payday, and will have a week or so after payday before the payment is due.For what it's worth, that's how I've got mine running. I get my statement on the 20th, receive my pension on the last working day of the month*, and the payment due date is the 9th of the following month. Virgin were quite amenable to changing the statement date to suit me when I asked them to do so.(*Except December, when it's paid on the 24th, and January, when it's paid on the 27th!)0 -
If you have a direct debit set up - they'll take the payment - and that's it. There'll be no late fees. Just let it be, and make sure you have the money in your current account to cover the payment amount.0

Thanks for your help.
I was just worried that because it says it takes two days and sometimes the 28th falls on a weekend?0 -
Virgin will take the direct debit on whatever date they need to in order for the money to reach your account on time.0
