And the bit i did put in bold, originally when i highlighted it it made all the stuff before that bold too for some reason even though that wasn't highlighted. And when i @ your name it puts in a double @ for some reason, but on other occasions it'll leave it at one @. Very inconsistent.0

We can only hope. It's seemed to be very buggy. I thought it would've had more testing before going live but it is what it is. It seems to have stopped having a hissy fit when i scroll on my iPhone which is a relief.

Do i just left click the gparted .iso in Windows 7 and then at the top click to burn and then it will automatically be bootable, or do i need to do anything else?

As it's only 300mb or so it can go to a disc...---Yes -- it can go on a CD/DVD or a USB. Either way, you'll need software to burn the disc or write the USB.For CD/DVDs, DeepBurner Free is dead easy and should be self-explanatory.For USBs, I use Balena Etcher -- again it's ridiculously simple and reliable. As mentioned above, Rufus does the same thing. Take your pick.https://www.balena.io/etcher/

debitcardmayhem said:Nope you need to use something like rufus https://rufus.ie/I got it in the end. Something i've done a fair few times and i must've just had a brain fart. I right clicked the iso and went to send to > drive with blank disc in.It then burned all the files to the disc rather than the .iso file itself which is what happened with my post you quoted.0

I'm also wondering if the problem might be related to the "active" partition attribute.Which partition is labelled "active" after you've installed the first copy of Win10? I believe it should be the "system reserved" partition at the start of the disk? Is that same partition still flagged "active" after installing the second copy of Win10?I doubt it's the cause of the problem, but maybe the second Win10 installation is incorrectly changing the active partition, resulting in one OS not booting.(You can see the "active" flags in either Windows Disk Management Tool or GParted.)More info if you're interested:

Just a post to say that i'm not ignoring you. I've read the above and given thanks, just that i can't actually answer it.The hard drive currently has Win7 and Win10 on it. I'm about to be back at work in the morning so for now i'm knocking this on the head after getting something that could work (the black screen boot mentioned earlier).I'm going to go through all my files and have a proper sort out rather than just a quick shimmy around. With the space i might free up it might even mean that what i do changes. I don't know yet. I've been needing to have a sort out for years. I've got old statements, old draft documents, 100s of. So many audio files and various iPhone backup files, iphone photos backed up to god knows how many folders for 'just in case' it's just daft and taking up a ton of space. Thanks to everyone who's offered help
Very much appreciated.
As a side note, i should carry a link to this thread around with me. People say i'm a bad egg, bad attitude etc but this thread is proof enough. Everyone has been pleasant, patient and very helpful. It makes all the difference1
