What is not insured - You were aware of the global threat of Covid at the time of booking your trip. The wording clearly says "could mean that you can't travel".

Yes I was aware about Covid since January and so was FCO. Did you ready my first post regarding the case?
People sometimes have to take responsibility for their own actions. Weighing up the risks. Hence the reason that the wording is written as it is.
When travelling in Jordan at my Palestine drivers invitation I visited down town Amman. Totally contrary to FCO advice. I was fully aware of the risks. My visit passed without incident. You only live once.

I agree. We cancelled a trip to South East Asia despite not being FCO advice in March due to concerns of the pandemic. Lost more than £500 but FCO came in half way through the trip and if we went, we wouldn't have been able to come back and have no Travel insurance cover.

We saw it as 500 pounds well spent, no worry and stress waiting when the FCO will give us an emergency flight or running out money e.t.c. more importantly no worry about getting COVID.

You saw lots of Britains still traveled despite no FCO but the COVID issue becoming severe.  Probably on the basis, spent the money anyways might as well go or FCO haven't said not to. I bet a large proportion of those are regretting it now.

There's waiting for FCO so you can claim back on insurance, and then there's the journey to get to that point. Do you want to be stuck in a foreign country in lock down, fearful of your health and finances and no where to stay.
