PO Credit Card abroad info

Options
Having read these forums for some time I decided to get a Post office credit card for use abroad. Having just returned from the states I received my statement this morning and the exchange rates are brilliant. :j

On average the x-rate was $2.0520 and no additional charges. Please note these are purchase rates and I never used the card to withdraw money.

Anyone thinking of getting either the Nationwide or PO credit card for use abroad should do so. Mines coming with me on all future trips abroad.

I have always used the Nationwide one for paying bills abroad and their exchange rates are excellent. I had a problem with the hotel last time I used it in Spain. Hadn't noticed at the time but the hotel turned the account into Stg with a very poor exchange rate. Nationwide sorted it out and I got a credit on my statement. I like the Nationwide card very much and, not a lot of people know this, but, they give an extra one year's guarantee on any purchase of electrical goods.

To be fair to the Post Office card, they state:
Almost everything you buy on your card is insured against accidental damage, loss and theft for up to 90 days from purchase
As for Nationwide's extra one year guarantee, while useful, it only applies to a limited selection of goods and only where the manufacturers warranty is 2 years or less.
