Parking ticket on French car

Hi. I received a parking ticket on my French registered car yesterday. It’s from a private company, can they trace me in France?

I‘d rather not get in to any questions of whether my French car is legal or insured in U.K. or my tax contributions to the U.K. Can we please just take it as read that it is here legally, for a short period and is fully insured?

Any informed advice on the parking ticket would be gratefully received.

Don't think we care if you are legal or not. So it was a ticket on your windscreen.   Who is the company >

I don't think they'll have access to any database in France that holds your details. Presumably any such database will have your France home address?

Time will tell, but I suspect you'll hear no more.

Not a hope of accessing the french system, and if its here for a short period its still registered in France, meaning any claim would have to be filed outwith the jurisdiction of the E&W courts. Not gonna happen.

Hi. I received a parking ticket on my French registered car yesterday. It’s from a private company, can they trace me in France?

They can, and they can go through the  FCO and have HM Consul in France serve papers on you .  I did  it once in a child protection case in Texas and my bill to Social Services was in excess of £2 ,000.

Thanks Umkomaas. There isn’t another agency they’d pass it to for tracing? Like Euro Parking Collection?
